Ethel Petrich 97 of Bristol passed away Friday June 29, 2018 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 6, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Webster, Marion Grimes will officiate. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Friday at the church.
Ethel May (Peterson) Petrich was born June 25, 1921 on a farm in Clark County, South Dakota to William and Nettie (Jacobson) Peterson. She attended various schools in Clark county graduating from Lily High School in 1939.
On October 15, 1940 she married Erwin Petrich at Butler, South Dakota. They made their home on the Petrich family farm, northeast of Butler. The couple moved to Webster in 1987. She moved to Heritage Village in September of 2002 and Erwin passed away in 2004.
She was a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church in Butler until merged with United Methodist Church in Bristol. After moving to Webster, she transferred her membership to Webster United Methodist Church.
She was active in senior citizens in Bristol and Webster where she played violin in the kitchen band. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, gardening, baking and decorating cakes, writing poetry, playing violin and mandolin, and above all else she cherished time spent with her family.
Ethel passed away June 29, 2018 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 97 years and 4 days.
Survivors include one son, Larrie (Gwen) Petrich of Aberdeen, SD; two daughters, Beverly (Allen) Seibel of Britton, SD and Rebecca (Phillip) Story of Williston, ND; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erwin, eight brothers, Carroll, Mason, Basil, Willard (in infancy), Wilber, Delmer, Floyd and Leslie Peterson, and two sisters, Leona Phelps and Nina Peterson (in infancy).
