WEBSTER- Esther Schmig of Webster died on Tuesday June 13, 2006 at Stand Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday June 16, 2006 at American Lutheran in Webster with Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday 4 - 7 P.M. and prior to services on Friday. Esther Minnie Reiprich was born on January 21, 1920 to Robert and Christine (Hofer) Reiprich on the family farm near Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. She attended country school near her home and Webster High School. On November 24, 1939 she married Harry Schmig at Webster. After their marriage the couple made their home and farmed south of Bristol. In 1960, the couple moved to Bristol, where she did babysitting for her grandchildren. Mr. Schmig passed away in August of 1979. After his death she remained in Webster where she volunteered at the Golden Age Club. In May of 2005 she entered Stand Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. She was a member at American Lutheran in Webster where she was active in her Bible Study Group Circle and WELCA. She was also a member of the Webster Golden Age Club. Esther passed away on Tuesday June 13, 2006 at Roslyn, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 23 days. Survivors include one daughter, Rosalie (Roger) Kreuger of Young America MN; one son, LeRoy (Phyllis) Schmig of Young America, MN; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Linda, and one granddaughter.
