WEBSTER – Elenora “Ellie” Anderson 95 of Webster passed away Friday June 7, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Webster.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday June 12, 2019 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Allie Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 P.M. closing with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Elenora Laura Zumm was born on November 26, 1923 to Karl and Anna Marie (Mann) Zumm at Groton, South Dakota. She was baptized at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended school in rural Andover and eventually settled in Webster.
On November 25, 1942, she married Willis Anderson. The couple made their home in Webster where Ellie worked as a nanny and housekeeper. In 1974, Ellie began work at Lake Area Hospital and after 32 years she retired at the age of 82. Even after her retirement she didn’t slow down. She loved her family, her church, her many friends, and her daily coffee gathering at Perebooms. She was always ready to lend a hand. In 2016, Ellie moved to Sun Dial Manor.
She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her son Doug Anderson of Lino Lakes, MN, and two daughters; Peggy (David) Schmalberg and Suzy (Joe) Jach both of Lawrence, KS, five grandsons, three great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. She is also survived by one sister Dora Mae Huggett of Webster, SD, special family member Duane Anderson of Webster, SD, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Mary Anderson, four sisters, and seven brothers.
