WEBSTER- Eleanor Klungseth, 91 of Webster died on Thursday April 9, 2009 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Daniel Ostercamp and Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) in Webster on Monday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Eleanor Bruha was born on Sunday, October 14, 1917 to John and Alice (Mlejnek) Bruha at Vienna, South Dakota. She attended school near her home and graduated from Vienna High School in 1935. She lived with her parents until her marriage to Martin Klungseth on July 3, 1937 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple moved to Webster where she was employed at Anthony’s Department Store, then at Hillgren Insurance Agency and then began her career at the Webster Public School System. She worked at the school for many years until her retirement in the late 1970’s. Then she worked part-time for Vernon Franson in the Amway warehouse in Webster. The couple enjoyed their cabin at Enemy Swim Lake for many years and they spent the winters in Apache Junction, Arizona for several years. They also like to travel. Mr. Klungseth passed away in May 1996. After his death she remained in her own home until moving to Heritage Village Apartments in 1999. She entered Bethesda Home in March 2007. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster where she was active in W.E.L.C.A. and other church activities. She was a member of the Gray Ladies, American Legion Auxiliary, Webster Centennial Committee and their scholarship committee. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and playing cards. Eleanor passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 26 days. Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Lynda) Klungseth of Webster, SD and Terry ( Kay) Klungseth of Windermere, FL; one brother, Burton Bruha of Huron, SD; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
