WEBSTER- Ed Coin, 58 of Webster died on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at his home in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster, interment of his ashes will be at Bristol Cemetery. There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service & Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Edward Jay Coin was born on Tuesday, October 31, 1950 to Edward Jacob and Harriet (Hanson) Coin at Webster, South Dakota. The family lived at Bristol when he was born and then moved to Rapid City. When Ed was high school age the family moved to Webster where he attended high school. On October 11, 1969 he married Linda Gruba at Grenville, South Dakota. The couple made their home at Roslyn. In 1970 he entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Colorado during the Vietnam War. He was dishcharged in 1971. He also served with the South Dakota National Guard from 1986-1999. In 1987 he moved to Grenville, then to Waubay and finally to Webster. He was employed by the Markve Agency for several years, Dakotah, Inc. and he drove truck for Dakota Tube. On June 28, 2003 he was united in marriage Vicki Eisenbraun. They continued to make their home in Webster. He was the maintenance supervisor for the Golden Living Center in Groton until failing health forced him to retire in April 2009. Ed loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. And was an artist and loved to draw pictures. Ed passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at his home in Webster, South Dakota at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 16 days. Survivors include his wife, Vicki of Webster; one son, Edward (& Les Frederick) Coin of Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter, Nikki (Brenton) Rains of Sioux Falls, SD; three sisters, Sandra (Bruce) Brewer of Midvale, UT, Mona (Wayne) Kuecker and Lona (Ron) Kuecker both of Webster, SD; one grandson, Cole; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
