Edith Knapp, 63 of Webster died on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Webster, Pastor Justin Iverson officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services at the church. Edith Joyce Krueger was born on Monday September 3, 1951 to Paul and Joyce (Pigors) Krueger at Aberdeen, South Dakota. The family lived near Groton where she grew up. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Groton. In 1969 she graduated from Groton High School and then studied at a trade school in Kansas City, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Kermit Knapp on January 7, 1971 at Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm in Racine Township northeast of Webster and farmed for a short time. They continued to live in Racine Township and she worked in Webster at Dacotah, Inc. for nineteen years and then at Esco Sign Company for six years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Webster. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, cross-stitching, ceramics and going to craft fairs. Edith passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Aberdeen, South Dakota at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 6 days. Celebrating her life are her husband, Kermit of Webster; her mother, Joyce Krueger of Groton, SD; her children, Angie (David) Williams and Amy (John Gruman) Knapp both of Aberdeen, SD; five brothers, Roger Krueger, David (Cheryl) Krueger, Doug (Heidi) Krueger, Dan Kruger and Kevin Krueger all of Groton, SD; two sisters, Sheila (Chuck) Johnson of Verdon, SD and Paula (Craig) West of Aberdeen, SD; and four grandchildren, Amanda, Ben and Jesse Williams and Avery Gruman. She was prededed in death by her father.
