Dorothy Faries

Dorothy Faries, 88 of Bristol and formerly of Waubay died on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Missouri. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster was in charge of the arrangements. Fiksdalfuneral.com. Dorothy Kathryn Faries was born on April 22, 1923 to Norman and Jetta (Usher) Reed at Elvins, Missouri. The family lived in several towns in Missouri and she received her education where they lived at the time. After she received her education she worked as a cook in Missouri and did housekeeping. She married Leslie Jones. Leslie was in the military so they lived in several locations while he served in the Army Air Corps including Texas, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri. After he was discharged they lived in Flat River, Elvins and St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away in 1972. She married John Faries and they lived in Eden, North Carolina. He passed away in 1990. After his death she moved to Poplar Bluff, Missiouri. She moved to North Dakota before moving to Waubay, South Dakota in 1998. She has resided at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol since 2009. She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Ferguson of Webster, SD; three sons, Norman T. Jones of Cash, AR, Joseph E. Jones of Likking, MO and John N. Jones of Phoenix, AZ; eleven grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and a daughter, Bonnie G. Jones.
