Donna Wik

Donna Wik, 61, of Webster, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, at a care center in Mesa, Arizona.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Burial will be at Tabor Cemetery near Webster.

Donna Marie Gollnick was born on September 19, 1961, to Francis and Dolores (Bierschbach) Gollnick at Watertown, South Dakota. She was baptized at St. Otto’s Catholic Church and confirmed at the newly built Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Donna attended school in Webster, graduating in 1979.  She furthered her education at NSU majoring in business.

On September 13, 1980, she married her best friend and love of her life, Gary Wik at Christ the King Catholic Church. The couple made their home north of Webster. To this union five children were born, Stacey, Matthew, Mindy, Christa, and Brandon. After raising their children Donna decided to do something for herself and became an EMT which became the passion of her life.

Donna worked various jobs in the area such as Harlow’s Bus Service, Christensen Ambulance Service, Sheyenne Transport, as well as helping with her kids with their businesses, Wik Trucking and The Diner on Main. Most recently she was vital in the new Day County Ambulance Service.

Donna enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and baking. She loved time with her grandkids and taking them out for ice cream. She loved her family and helping others and would do anything to be of service to others in need.

Donna was a devoted Catholic who was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster where she taught CCD and was active in the altar society acting as a funeral committee leader. She was also a member of the South Dakota EMS Association.

She will be forever loved by her husband Gary Wik of Webster, SD, children, Stacey (Adam) Christoffers of Brewster, MN, Matthew (Jenna) Wik of Webster, Mindy Charlson of Webster, SD, Christa (David) Orr of Bristol, SD, and Brandon (Emma) Wik of Webster, as well as 12 grandchildren, Preston, Tanner, Walker, Tenlee, Lane, Peyton, Ellie, Rylee, Atlee, Bennett, Ila, and Murphie. She is also survived by siblings, Dianne (Willard) Haugen, Mike (Karlene) Gollnick, and John (Lana) Gollnick all of Webster, SD, brother-in-law Darrel (Michelle) Wik of Webster, SD, stepmother Helen Gollnick of Watertown, SD, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Shawn Charlson, granddaughter Alaina Wik, brother Kenneth Gollnick, and in-laws Lyle and Mavis Wik.
