WEBSTER – Dominic Dolney 61 of Webster passed away Thursday June 6, 2019 at Aberdeen.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 15, 2019 at Freedom Church in Webster. Burial will be in the St. Otto's Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday 5-7 P.M.,
Dominic Jerome Dolney was born on June 8, 1957 to Jerome and Sylvia (Block) Dolney. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Grenville. He attended parochial school in Grenville through 5th grade and then went to Roslyn where he graduated from Roslyn High School in 1975. While in high school he was very active in football, band, FFA and was crowned RHS Homecoming King in 1974.
After his education, Dominic worked various jobs in the area including farming, bakery work, silo construction, and most recently was employed at Demkota Ranch Beef in Aberdeen. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, especially the fishing tournaments on Enemy Swim Lake. He was a member at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Webster for many years and was key in helping with various renovations in the church. For the past year, Dominic has been a member of Freedom Church in Webster. He was always working whether it be at his place of employment, at the church, or helping a friend in need. The last several years, Dominic formed a strong bond with God and worked to give glory to God and trust that all would work out in the end.
He is survived by his children; Shawn Dolney of NY, Dustin Dolney and Josh Dolney both of SD; five grandchildren: his siblings, Dennis (Betty) Dolney of Watertown, SD, Duane Dolney of Spokane, WA, Deanna Nebola of Ames, IA, and Donnette (Steve) Barndt of Elkhorn, NE; and a very special friend, Viki Westness of Webster, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Joe M. and Mary (Lewno) Block, paternal grandparents, Peter and Johanna (Pionk) Dolney.
