Diana Beisch, 68, of Waubay, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Milbank Area Hospital Avera in Milbank, South Dakota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay, and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Closed casket visitation will be Monday 5-7 P.M. at the church in Waubay with a 7 P.M. Rosary.

Diana Helen Beisch was born on January 10, 1955, to Gale and Valentina (Koslowski) Beisch at Watertown, South Dakota. Diana was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member and taught CCD. She assisted in many Confirmations and First Communions over the years. Diana attended school in Waubay, graduating in 1973. After high school, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Northern State University.

 

Diana began her career at the Webster School District as the school librarian and later at Waubay School District as a teacher’s aide and later as the school librarian. Diana enjoyed staying busy and worked at the Trading Post in Waubay until it closed. She then went on to work as a dietary aide at Bethesda Home in Webster. She continued her career at the Waubay School until her health forced her into an early retirement in 2022. Diana enjoyed family get togethers. She had a great passion for books and reading. She loved hearing stories about her great nieces and nephew as well as seeing pictures or visiting with them. Diana made sure to say a prayer for her loved ones each night before she went to sleep.

 

She will be greatly missed by her siblings: Dennis (Sheila) Beisch of Watertown, SD, Gary (Karla) Beisch of Sioux Falls, SD, Arnie (Paula) Beisch of Waubay, SD, Gene (Marcie) Beisch of Webster, SD, Leon Beisch of Waubay, SD, Marilyn (David) Zubke of Waubay, SD, and Jane (Dennis) Ells of Waubay, SD, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
