Dennis Zubke

Dennis Zubke, 69, of Waubay, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at his home near Waubay.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the funeral home, Pastor Mike McCarlson will officiate. The service will be livestreamed via our Facebook page.  Inurnment will be at the Lakewood Cemetery near Waubay.

Dennis Dale Zubke was born on May 1, 1955, to Dale and Arlene (Mikkelson) Zubke at Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay and attended school in Waubay. He graduated in 1973. After graduation, he moved to Watertown and worked at Chickasha for a couple years and then returned to the family farm. He continued farming until the present time.

Dennis was a farmer at heart. He had a passion for breaking and riding horses. He also enjoyed his “critters”, including his donkeys and goats. He was so loved and enjoyed by all his nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Dennis passed away at his home, Monday August 19, 2024, at the age of 69 years, 3 months, and 18 days. 

He is survived by five sisters, Donna (Larry) Green of Amana, IA, Lois (Bob) Ragatz of Frankfort, SD, Lorri (Dean) Elverud of Flandreau, SD, Marilyn (Ernie) Gronke of Waubay, SD, and Lorna (Jason) Whitted of Watertown, SD, two brothers, Lynn (Deb) Zubke of Roslyn, SD, and Mark (Julie) Zubke of Waubay, SD, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was so loved and enjoyed by all his nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ryan, sister Myra, and sister-in-law Lois Zubke.
