Deloris Whitlock

Deloris Whitlock, 91, of Watertown, and formerly of Webster, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at CTK.

Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery in Webster, SD. 

Deloris Josephine Gebur was born on December 31, 1930, to Joseph and Margaret (Weyer) Gebur at Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster. She attended school in Webster. After her education, she worked various jobs in the Webster area.

On January 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald “Dutch” Whitlock at Clark, south Dakota. The couple made their home in Webster and raised their twin sons Dale and Dallas. She worked at local cafes and also hired out for interior and exterior painting services including the peak of barns. In 2010, the couple moved to Watertown. Dutch passed away in 2011. Deloris continued to live in Watertown until present time.

Deloris was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially peonies and roses. She was also an excellent baker and known for her delicious pies and desserts.

Deloris passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Watertown, South Dakota at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 2 days.

She is survived by her sons; Dale (Cherrie) Whitlock of Webster, SD and Dallas (Debra) Whitlock of Watertown, SD, one sister Lois Bonardi of Rockland, MA, one sister-in-law Ramona Whitlock of Watertown, SD, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister Carol Hamman.
