BRISTOL – Darrell Miller 79 of Bristol passed away Saturday December 8, 2018 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
His funeral will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday December 15, 2018 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster, Pastor Mike McCarlson will officiate. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery.

Darrell Edward Miller was born on May 8, 1939 to Henry and Evelyn (Wampler) Miller at Lemmon, South Dakota. In 1948, at the age of nine, the family moved to Bristol, South Dakota. Darrell was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Bristol. He attended country school near the family farm. He attended Bristol High School and graduated in 1957. After his education, he took employment at Farmers Union Oil Company in Bristol.
On November 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to Janice Jiran at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol. To this union three children were born; Greg, Jim, and Kathy. The family made their home in Bristol. After Janice’s passing in 1994, Darrell continued to live in Bristol and working for Farmers Union Oil Co. later known as Cenex until his retirement in 2004. In 2014 he moved to Webster to be closer to his daughter and family.
Darrell was a true fisherman that would never spill where the fish were biting! He also enjoyed hunting, following the Minnesota Twins, watching westerns, and above all else he cherished time spent with his family especially his grandkids.
Darrell passed away Saturday December 8, 2018 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 79 years and 7 months.
He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his children; Greg (Rhonda) Miller of Brandon, SD, Jim (Julie) Miller of Latham, IL, and Kathy (Robert) Kwasniewski of Webster, SD. He will also be missed by seven grandchildren and two sisters; Marlys (John) Denholm of Milbank, SD, and Nyla (Jerome) Mandel of Huron, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother David Miller.
