Danny Rudebusch, 69, of rural Waubay passed away Wednesday February 17, 2021 at his home. Public walk thru visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday February 26, 2021 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Friday February 26, 2021 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. There will be no formal service. Fiksdalfuneral.com Danny Neil Rudebusch was born on February 6, 1952 in Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Waubay, SD and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortley, SD . He attended country school near the family farm until he attended Waubay School where he graduated from in 1970. After high school he married Julie Hanson on November 6, 1972 in Ortley, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Watertown, South Dakota where Danny worked as a welder and later as a farmhand for a local farmer. In 1975, the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming. Danny worked in the oil fields and started his own trucking business D & J Trucking. In 1984 the family moved back to the Waubay area. In 1986 the family moved to the Rudebusch family farm where Danny farmed until recently. Danny enjoyed working in his shop, fabricating, constructing hay trailers, going to town shopping, and spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids. Danny passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 69 years and 11 days. Danny will be deeply missed by his wife, Julie Rudebusch of Waubay, SD; four children, Gene Rudebusch of Clear Lake, SD, Heather Rudebusch of Portland, OR, Tamera Halbert of Phoenix, AZ, and Danielle Rudebusch of St. Paul, MN; eight grandchildren, Brock, Jadin, Meaghynn, Bryson, Damien, Holden, Mika, and Kieth, and eight great-grandchildren.
