She taught for one year in Hinckley, MN before moving to Bristol, where she taught and met her future husband Kenny while roller skating at the Bristol gymnasium.

Angie and Kenny were married in Lily Lutheran Church on August 21, 1954. They moved to their farm site near Webster and established the Amundson family farm. In June 2021, Angie moved to an assisted living facility in New London, Minnesota; she later moved to Compassionate Cottage in Willmar, Minnesota and lived there until she passed away on Friday June 21, 2024, surrounded by family.
