Charlene Johnson, 46 of Webster passed away on October 7, 2013 from injuries received in a vehicle accident near Webster.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Michael McCarlson will officiate. Burial will be at New Sweden Cemetery near Holmquist.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday 5-7 P.M. with a 7 P.M. prayer service.
Charlene Kay Wolf was born on Tuesday, October 3, 1967 to Edwin “Pete” T. and Lydia (Lassle) Wolf at Mobridge, South Dakota. The family lived at Java where Charlene grew up, attended school and graduated from Java High School in 1985. She then attended Presentation College in Aberdeen and graduated with honors in Medical Records. She worked at Britton Hospital and then moved to Webster in 1988. She worked at Sanford Hospital in Webster for twenty six years where she was a Coding Specialist in medical records.
She met Larry Johnson of Webster as High League Leaders at the American Lutheran Church and realized they were life partners. They were united in marriage at American Lutheran Church on June 12, 1993. The couple made their home on a farm near Webster and to this union three children were born, Laren, Kyle and Riley.
Charlene was active in American Lutheran Church and later at Tabor Lutheran Church. She was Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir at American Lutheran and a Sunday School Teacher and in the W.M.F. at Tabor Lutheran. She also furnished pies, bars and cookies for church and school events. She also helped with 4-H.
Charlene passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 near Webster, South Dakota at the age of 46 years and 4 days.
She will be missed by her husband, Larry; three sons, Laren (at school in Watertown), Kyle and Riley all of Webster, SD; five sisters, Marsha (Charles) Aberle of Trail City, SD, Rhonda (Glen) Landis of Mobridge, SD, Lynette (Alan) Nelson of Mobridge, SD, Burlene (Rick) Metz of Billings, MT and Kim (Fiancée, Scott Hamre) Berndt of Mobridge, SD; one brother, Chad Wolf of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Charlene’s faith in the Lord Jesus shone in every word spoken and in every deed done. She praised God with every moment of her life. Her generous and kind spirit was evident in her involvement with her church.
