Carol Nelson

Webster- Carol Nelson, 84 of Webster died on Monday, March 31, 2008 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Her funeral will be Friday April 4, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster with Rev. Bruce Dalager and Rev. Derek Kalkes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday from 4 to 8P.M. with a 7P.M. Prayer Service. Carol Amanda Dalager was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1923 to Andrew and Josephine (Nilson) Dalager at Peabody Memorial Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. The family made their home north of Webster in Lynn Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster. She attended Green Back #150 country school in Lynn Township and then graduated from Webster High School in 1941. She then attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis for a year and then attended Northeran State Teacher’s College in Aberdeen receiving her teaching certificate. She taught country schools near Roslyn, Pierpont and North Webster areas. On November 28, 1947 she married Arnold Tvinnereim. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm north of Webster, California, Ortley, Andover, and then to Webster. Mr. Tvinnereim passed away in June 1965. On Decemberr 28, 1968 she married Reuben Nelson. After their marriage the couple made their home in Carol’s home on the northwest corner of Webster. Carol continued to teach in Webster until her retirement in the late 1980’s. Mr. Nelson passed away in December 1993. She remained in her home until six months ago when she moved in with her daughter in Webser. Carol was a lifelong member of Tabor Lutheran Church where she was organist and choir director for over 60 years. She was active in Circle, Bible Study and W.M.F. She was also a member of the Webster Study Club and enjoyed making quilts. Carol passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 16 days. Survivor include one daughter, LaVonne (Roger) Millim of Webster, SD; two sisters, Margaret Lindroth of Roslyn, SD and Alice Olson of Webster, SD, one brother, Albin (Alvina) Dalager of Norfolk, NE; and two grandsons, Douglas and Jonathon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers and two sisters.
