Carla D. Miotke

Carla Miotke, 62, of Pickerel Lake passed away of natural causes Tuesday February 2, 2021 at her home at Pickerel Lake. No formal services will be held. Carla Dawn Hanks was born on September 13, 1958 to Lloyd and Rose (Jungen) Hanks at Watertown, south Dakota. She attended school in Watertown and graduated from WHS in 1976. After high school, she enrolled at Northern State University in Aberdeen. She then returned to Watertown and worked at a manufacturing company. On September 13, 1986, she was united in marriage to Alfred “Freddy” Miotke at their home on Pickerel Lake. Carla furthered her education at Sisseton Wahpeton Community College obtaining her business degree. She was employed at Dakotacare and TLC in Webster. Most recently, she worked for Signa Insurance Company in customer service. Carla enjoyed fishing, doing beadwork, listening to music, and doing computer work. She was a loving and devoted wife who cherished time with her family. Carla passed away Tuesday February 2, 2021 at her home at the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 20 days. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her husband Freddy of Pickerel Lake, SD, daughters: Tracy Miotke-Nelson of Forest Lake, MN, and Debbie (Randy) Peltier of Taylors Falls, MN, three grandchildren: Lance Nelson, Shelby Peltier and Ashley Peltier, three brothers: Kevin (Tonya) Hanks of Watertown, SD, Kenneth (Kelli) Hanks of Watertown, SD, and Lloyd (Peggy) Hanks of Bradley, SD, three sisters: Yolanda (Monte) Kauf of Watertown, SD, Tana (Dennis) Lauseng of Brookings, SD, and Vonnie (Melvin) Webb of Eagle Butte, SD, and one half brother Steven Clausen of Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Donnan Miotke.
