Brenda Holmquist

ABERDEEN- Brenda Holmquist, 43 of Aberdeen died on Monday, November 7, 2005 at her home in Aberdeen. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2005 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery near Holmquist. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Friday. Brenda Lee Holmquist was born on Sunday, November 19, 1961 to Atley and DeLilah (Frosley) Holmquist at Milbank, South Dakota. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith. In 1965 she was placed at Custer State Hospital in Custer, South Dakota. While she was there she was taught living skills and taught to do various tasks within the hospital. In 1996 she was placed at Aberdeen Adjustment Training Center in Aberdeen where she was able to do various jobs within the center. She lived at a group home in Aberdeen. Brenda loved being around people and interacting with them. She like animals, watching movies and spending time with friends and roommates. She would brighten up everyone’s day with her laugh and smile. Brenda passed away on Monday, November 7, 2005 at her home in Aberdeen, South Dakota at the age of 43 years, 11 months and 18 days. Survivors include three brothers, Robin (Jennifer) Holmquist of Alexandria, MN, Daniel (Bonnie) Holmquist of Redfield, SD and Wendel Holmquist of Kranzburg, SD; and her paternal grandmother, Agnes Holmquist of Webster, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
