Benton Loe

PIERPONT- Benton “Benny” Loe, 65 of Pierpont died on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Beverly Healthcare in Groton. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pierpont, Paul Kosel, S.A.M. will officiate. Burial of his cremains will be at Homer Cemetery, Pierpont. There will be no visitation. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Benton “Benny” C. Loe was born on Wednesday, March 26, 1941 to Howard and Josephine (Tjelle) Loe at Webster, South Dakota. The family lived at Pierpont where he grew up. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Pierpont. He attended and graduated from Pierpont High School in 1959. After high school he was employed for many years in Webster at Tjelle’s grocery store. Then he returned to Pierpont where he was employed at the Pierpont Co-op Elevator for many years. Later, he worked at the Kidder Elevator in Kidder, South Dakota. In the later years he was employed by area farmers and at the time of his death he was employed by Richard Smeins. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his many friends in Pierpont and Langford. Benny passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Groton, South Dakota at the age of 65 years and 5 days. Survivors include two brothers, Allen (Sharon) Loe of Webster, SD and his twin brother, Burton (Debra) Loe of Mulvane, KS; one sister, Sandra Brink of Aberdeen, SD; and three nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Robert Brink.
