WEBSTER- Arlene Olson, 79 of Webster died on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2007 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Sunday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Monday. Arlene Nelson was born on Saturday, June 25, 1927 to Hazel Nelson at Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized at Lily Lutheran Church in Lily and later confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. She attended school in Webster. On June 25, 1947 she married Edgar “Eddie” Olson on the Olson family farm near Butler, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster. She held various jobs, some of which include, Bain’s Café, Chuck’s Café and also owned and operated the Coney Island Café. After retiring from the restaurant business she operated a home day care for many years. Mr. Olson passed away in March 2003. After his death she continued to live in her home until March 2007 when she entered the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. She enjoyed playing cards and games and listening to Daniel O’Donnell. One of her favorite things was spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her great grandchildren. Arlene passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Huron, South Dakota at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 11 days. Survivors include one son, Ronnie Olson of Greeley, CO; one daughter, Norma (Larry) Bohms of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and infant daughter and two grandsons.
