LANGFORD: Annie Hoines 96, of Britton and formerly of Langford, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Wheatcrest Hills Nursing Home in Britton. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Falnes Lutheran Church near Langford, Rev. Charles Bunk officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) in Webster on Friday 5-8 P.M. with a 7 P.M. prayer service. Annie Helena Nickelson was born on Sunday, October 6, 1912 to Carl and Hansina (Jensen) Nickelson on the family farm in Marshall County, South Dakota east of Langford. She grew up on the Nickelson family farm and attended country school near her home. On June 18, 1930 she married Alfred Hoines. After their marriage the couple farmed in Sisseton Township, Marshall County. Mr. Hoines passed away on March 20, 1960. After his death Annie remained on the farm. In February 2006 she moved to Wheatcrest Hills Nursing Home in Britton where she lived until her death. She was a member of Falnes Lutheran Church. She enjoyed country life, working in her garden and flower beds. She also enjoyed watching birds. Annie passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Britton, South Dakota at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 12 days. Survivors include one son, David Hoines of Langford, SD; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Ardis, three sons, Phillip, Donnie and Dennis, three brothers, three sisters, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
