WAUBAY- Alice Dolney, 65 of Waubay died on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. Burial will be in the Waubay Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Tuesday 1-4 then continuing at the church 6-8 P.M. with a 7 P.M. Scriptural Prayer Service. Alice Mae Breske was born on Monday, January 20, 1941 to Ted and Margaret (Wenger) Breske at Webster, South Dakota. The family lived on a farm north of Waubay where she grew up. She attended Breske #206 country school near her home and graduated from Waubay High School in 1958. On January 10, 1959 she married Richard Dolney at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. After their marriage the couple lived and farmed near Enemy Swim Lake then then moved to Grenville in 1969 and lived there for 30 years, moving to Waubay in 1999. She worked as a cook in various restaurants, worked for several years at the Webster Veterinary Clinic and the Alco store in Webster. She most recently worked at Lil’ Country Drive Inn in Waubay until her health forced her to retire in 2004. Mr. Dolney passed away in May 2005. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and playing cards. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Her special love for her dogs gave her much joy. Alice was known for her bright smile and sunny disposition. Alice passed away on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 28 days. Survivors include three brothers, Jim (Ruth) Breske of Warsaw, IN, Don (Sharon) Breske of Waubay, SD and Terry Breske of Watertown; three sisters, Marilyn Baumgarn of Montevideo, MN, Rose (Herman) Hansen of Watertown, SD and Dorothy (George) Derringer of Edwardsburg, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Robert and Dean and one sister, Betty.
