Agnes Larson 101 of Webster died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Bethesda Home in Webster.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Pastor Michael McCarlson officiating. Inurnment will be at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery near Webster.
Agnes Olivia Larson was born on Friday, January 30, 1914 to Alfred and Eliza (Sunford) Tofley on the family farm in Lynn Township, Day County, South Dakota northwest of Webster. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. After she received her education she lived at home with her parents and helped out on the farm.
In 1931 she was united in marriage to Hjalmer Larson. After their marriage the couple made their home in Raritan Towship. In 1964 she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked for ABC Industries as a packing clerk. She retired in the mid 1970’s and continued to live in Milwaukee. Hjalmer passed away in 1991. Before she permanently moved back to Webster she spent part of her time between Webster and Milwaukee. In July 2012 she entered Bethesda Home in Webster.
Her hobbies included planting flowers, cooking and visiting with family and friends. Agnes also enjoyed her grandchildren.
Agnes passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 101 years, 6 months and 12 days.
Survivors include one son, Alvin “Sonny” Larson of Webster, SD; one daughter, Jean ( Pat) O’Shea of Webster, SD; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Leon and Gordon, two daughters, Adeline and Sonja, two brothers, Norris and John, and three sisters, Hazel, Clarabelle and Eleanor.
