WEBSTER- Agnes Holmquist, 93 of Webster died on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Her funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 5, 2007 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery, Holmquist. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Sunday 4-7 P.M. and prior to services on Monday at the church. Agnes Sadie Hanson was born on Monday October 5, 1924 to Joseph and Sarah (Borton) Hanson near Pierpont, Day County, South Dakota in the Lynn Lake area. She was baptized and confirmed at Skudesnes Lutheran Church. She attended country school and then graduated from Pierpont High School in 1932. On November 18, 1937 she married Allan Holmquist at Skudesnes Lutheran Church near Pierpont. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Holmquist family farm north of Holmquist. She was the Postmistress at the Post Office in Holmquist and also worked at Dakotah, Inc. in Webster. The couple spent time in Arizona visiting family for several years. Mr. Holmquist passed away in June 1993. After his death she continued to live on the farm until moving to Heritage Village in Webster in 2000. In February 2007 she entered Bethesda Home in Webster. She was a faithful member of American Lutheran Church in Webster where she was active in Ladies Aide and WELCA. She also belonged to the Holmquist Helping Hand Club for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, reading, traveling and spending time with family. Agnes passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 93 years and 25 days. Survivors include one son, Wesley Holmquist of Holmquist, SD; two daughters, Valerie (Chuck) McIntosh and Janice (R.J.) Wall both of Holmquist, SD; two sisters-in-law, Margit Hanson of Roslyn, SD and Dorothy Hanson of Webster, SD; nine grandchildren, Sarah Holmquist and Erek Holmquist both of Sioux Falls, SD, Robin (Jennifer) Holmquist of Alexandria, MN, Dan (Bonnie) Holmquist of Redfield, SD, Wendall Holmquist of Goodwin, SD, Bill (Melissa) Schlamann, Mark (Fancy) Schlamann, Todd (Leslie) Schlamann all of Yuma, AZ and Clayton (Sue) Wall of Wellton, AZ; ten great grandchildren; a niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Atley, a granddaughter, Brenda and three brothers, Henry, Marvin and Joel.
