Our sincere condolences to Daves family. Our heart breaks for you. Dave was our neighbor in Rapid City and became an instant friend. We will miss his visits in the summer around rally time. Remember the good times, our prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Helen & Barb, My sincere condolences at your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will always remember your entire family with fond memories when I recall my years growing up. I had but few families I would babysit for, but David and Barb were, without a doubt my favorite. God be with you both. Christy

Dave, You are missed so much. I still have the beach towel you gave me for my high school graduation, and had just used it at the pool before I heard the news. I pray you are at peace, and for peace and strength for your family during this time. I am honored to have been your friend.

To Dave's Family: Our deepest sympathy to you. Dave was our neighbor in North Mankato. We were shocked & sadden to hear of his passing. We will miss his neighborly ‘hi’ or chatting about everyday things. Every time we hear a motorcycle on our street we will always think of him. We will not be able to make it out to SD for the funeral but wanted to let you know our thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing he is at peace now.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Dave. My boys fell in love with him as they did a lot of his classmates and friends, as they used to come babysit or hang out at our house. I wished there was something that could take away the broken hearts we have when we lose someone we love. Just know he's in a better place and he'll never be forgotten

Dear Helen, Barb, and extended families, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. David was a good friend of my mother's and she spoke highly of him. My mother and David had a special friendship and they had wonderful visits together. I know his friendship meant a lot to my mother and I think it was important to David too. I am sure my mother and Goldie will be greeting him with open arms. I wish there was something I could say to ease the pain, but be comforted in knowing he is at peace now. I will keep you in my prayers. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Helen,Barb and Kurt, my deepest sympathies. Please know there are many people here in the Mankato area that are praying for your family and missing that truly bright light of Davys. He is in his Father's arms, all his wounds are healed and he is whole. He is home and free and all his tears are washed away. And all the engines on his toys are super super turbo and there is only one speed fast. Love ya, Beth

To David's family: David was two years younger than I. I was a classmate with Barb but I knew her little brother through social connections. A funny story. My friend wanted to drive out to David's house (when we were all in H.S.) to see if he was home. It was dark. We shut our headlights off before we got to the long driveway to the farm. My friend did not want him to know she was interested. We managed to drive close to the house before we saw someone or heard something. I forget which. I quickly backed up to turn around to get out and in the process I managed to hit the tail light of my parents car on a tree trunk. We didn't look, we just took off. The next day in school David walked up to my desk with a big smile on his face as he dropped off the pieces of the tail light we left behind. Then he added that I could have just drove around the tree (I guess there was a circle drive there). Silly me and now we were embarrassed and caught. It was winter. My parents had not yet noticed the broken tail light. So, I parked the car in the road and dropped the pieces by the car. The next morning I blamed the break on someone else who must have driven by and slid into the car. It worked...as far as I know because I didn't get in trouble for the tail light. Thanks David for the pieces and for the fond memory. I hope this put a little bit of a smile on your face to remember him by.
